Health

Access to Tools for Wellness

Residents thrive through healthy lifestyles and seamless access to beneficial services. Better coordination of health and human services will simplify the care for physical as well as social and emotional health needs. And, by improving food access and providing education on nutrition, our residents will have a greater ability to maintain healthy lifestyles. Ultimately, we will build a resilient community.

Working together, we will support the changes needed to increase access to and reduce the cost of healthcare services. This will enable our community to better treat and prevent diseases like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and obesity and provide support for mental health and trauma recovery.

We know this will take time. As we work towards our long-term goals, there are immediate and exciting changes for our community to support:

Integrated Health Network

Provide wrap-around health and social services through a Northside Wellness System, Thrive18

Food Access

Increase the number of food access sites and the frequency with which they are available

Healthy Living

Increase in expectant mothers’ ability to access prenatal care
