What is Zone 1 Cares?
Zone 1 Commander Shawn Malloy is taking the steps to make relationship-based policing a reality for Northside neighborhoods through Zone 1 Cares. Zone 1 Cares, launched as a pilot in October 2022 in Northview Heights and Allegheny Dwellings, is rolling out Northside-wide beginning this Spring. Through Zone 1 Cares, Officers will be assigned to a Northside sector and engage residents on foot distributing safety resources, meeting with business owners and participating in community-based events.
